What is DeMolay you might ask?
DeMolay is an international youth leadership organization for young men, typically ages 12–21. It focuses on developing character, leadership skills, civic responsibility, and respect for others. The organization has been around for over 100 years and was started in Kansas City, Missouri in 1919. The Teacher of the Year looks for someone who, in addition to educating, inspires young people in education. This should be a teacher who makes learning an adventure. The person being nominated must NOT know of his or her nomination. Current Junior at FHS, Cayden Elkins, nominated Sgt. Hinson and the award came as a surprise to her!
Sgt. Hinson goes above and beyond every single day to inspire, guide, and develop the next generation of leaders in our community. Her dedication to excellence, character-building, and supporting our cadets both in and out of the classroom truly sets the standard.

This summer, our students step out of the classroom and into the local workforce, actively exploring exciting career pathways through hands-on, real-world internships. This program thrives because of the generosity and dedication of our local businesses and leaders and we are so incredibly grateful to each of them. Adalyn Wasson worked at Mercy Clinic Primary Care with a goal to become a pediatric psych nurse. She plans to attend college to earn a nursing degree and specialize in pediatric mental health. Thanks to Megan Bell!

We are thrilled to share some incredible news! At the annual Department of Missouri Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) meeting earlier this summer held in Ste. Genevieve, Cadet Maya McKenney was officially named the State-Wide Outstanding Cadet! 🏆🎉
Out of 17 impressive nominations submitted by JROTC programs across the entire state of Missouri, Maya stood out for her exceptional leadership, dedication, and character. Along with this prestigious honor, she was awarded $300!
McKenney was eligible for the Dept of Missouri SUVCW Outstanding Cadet recognition after 1LT D. Christopher Warren, Camp Commander of the Gen. Thomas C. Fletcher Camp #47, presented Cadet McKenney with the local SUVCW Award on campus back in April. The recipients of this award must be a second or third-year cadet that rank in the top 25% of their Aerospace Science class, demonstrates qualities of dependability, good character, discipline, and possesses leadership ability and a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of JROTC training.

Our Farmington staff just wrapped up an intensive Leadership Retreat at Bogey Creek Golf Club! Over the last three days, the team rolled up their sleeves to dive deep into our operational, managerial, and academic topics.
Led by Dr. Hardy, the staff worked on streamlining how we work to elevating the academic experience.
They touched on:
💡Sharpening our leadership strategies and strengths
🏆District level and department goals
📊Responsibilities and expectations
🎯Instructional priorities and goals
🛡️Principal presence, support and continuous improvement
But the focus throughout the three days remained the same: "Keep the main thing the main thing"...our students.
