In recognition of Gifted Education Awareness Week (February 9–13), we thank the gifted students, educators, families, grandparents, and advocates across Missouri who work together to nurture potential and support lifelong learning.
We are especially grateful for Mrs. Suzanne Ross, whose dedication and care make a meaningful difference for gifted learners in our district.

Jake and Kati’s story is one of those meant-to-be-from-the-start kind of love stories. They first met way back in 1985 at Mother Goose Daycare, then reconnected years later in 1998 during a class in Kati’s senior year. The timing was finally right.
They’ve now been together for 27 years, married for 25, and are raising two sons, ages 16 and 10. Kati’s favorite memories from their high school sweetheart days are the simple ones: late-night phone calls, flowers on date nights, hanging out with friends, and feeling like they had the whole world figured out.
Sometimes the best love stories really do come full circle.

🖤💛 **Farmington Sweethearts: Jeff & Andrea Burnette ('87 & '89)** 💛🖤
Jeff and Andrea’s love story began during theater auditions at Truman Auditorium, where shared creativity quickly turned into something more. They’ve been together for 34½ years and have built a beautiful life together with bfour children, two boys and two girls.
Their favorite high school memories are full of classic sweetheart moments like sneaking off to the light booth during theater, school dances, and Prom, Andrea wearing Jeff’s class ring and letter jacket, driving to school together, and negotiating curfews.
From stage lights to lifelong love, their story is a true Farmington classic.

🖤💛 Farmington Sweethearts: Kathryn & John (Tony) Lewis ('85 & '88) 💛🖤
Kathryn and Tony’s love story began where many high school memories are made: the cafeteria at lunch. Tony and his friends sat at the table next to Kathryn and her friends, and there was always plenty of fun, laughter, and antics. Not long after, a hayride at Possum Hollow Bridge helped turn those everyday moments into something more.
They’ve been together for 35 years and are proud parents of three Farmington graduates, Klaire ('13), Kate ('17), and Karoline ('19). Their favorite high school memory is the 1987 Sweetheart Dance, a time they describe as being crazy in love, young, and carefree.

Brian was Jessica’s first boyfriend, winning her over with Pokémon cards. While they didn’t stay together back then, their story wasn’t finished.
They reconnected while working together at Subway in the summer of 2004, and when school started, they found themselves in the same advisory. From there, their bond only grew stronger.
Now, 17 years later, Brian and Jessica are raising three boys and cherishing what they say is their favorite part of being high school sweethearts, growing up together and loving every version of each other unconditionally. ❤️ #FarmingtonSweethearts #TheKnightWay
