Last week, building leaders, educators, and parents from across our Title I schools gathered for our Annual Title Evaluation Meeting. Guided by a growth mindset, our team spent the time diving into student achievement data and stakeholder surveys to ensure we are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our learners.
These insights were used to refine our Title Building Plans for the upcoming school year, keeping our focus exactly where it belongs to student success.
A heartfelt thank you to our FSD Title I staff. Your endless dedication to supporting our students and staff is truly appreciated!

What happens when students and district leaders sit down at the same table? Progress
The Student Superintendent Advisory Council (SSAC) met recently to continue their mission of bridging the gap between our hallways and our district offices. This dedicated group of student leaders meets throughout the year to share direct feedback on the student experience, collaborate on solutions for school improvements, and strengthen communication between our student body and district leadership.
For the final meeting of the year, building leaders joined the council to hear firsthand insights from students. It was an incredible opportunity for principals and administrators to listen, learn, and take student-driven ideas back to their specific campuses.
We are so proud of these students for using their voices to make Farmington School District a better place for everyone!

Recently the Community Teachers Association (CTA) awarded Teacher Mini-Grants to some lucky staff members. The winners were Crystal Jenkins, a 2nd grade teacher and Kayla Gillam, a 1st grade teacher. Additional mini-grant winners will be selected in April and May to some staff members.
CTA would like to extend their sincere thanks to the following individuals and organizations for their generous donations to CTA Cares in support of the Backpack Program: Cindy Danieley, Howard and Debbie Hoehn, and She Is Strong Ministry. CTA also appreciates both Farmington McDonald’s locations for hosting a McFundraiser night benefiting CTA Cares.
Because of the continued support from our community, CTA is able to provide weekend food bags for students. FSD is incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported and continues to support this important work. #CommunityConnectedness #TheKnightWay

The Farmington R-7 School District is pleased to announce that Jessica Long has been named the new Transportation Manager, effective for the 2026–2027 school year. She will succeed Stacy Williams, who is retiring at the end of the current school year after dedicated service to the district.
Jessica brings nearly 16 years of experience within the district’s transportation department. She began her career in May 2010 as a substitute bus driver and took on her first regular route, Bus 42, at the start of the 2010–2011 school year. Over the years, she has driven four different routes, including an early childhood route, and has also served students as an instructional aide at TLC.
In the past four years, Jessica has expanded her role beyond driving, taking on responsibilities in route programming and managing the district’s routing software. Working closely alongside Stacy Williams during this time, she has gained valuable insight into the daily operations and leadership required to keep the transportation department running efficiently.
Her combined experience in driving, routing, and administrative support has given her a strong understanding of both the complexities of student transportation and the regulations that guide it.
“I am excited for the opportunity to lead such an outstanding team of mechanics, drivers, and support staff,” Jessica said. “In the coming year, I plan to evaluate and improve our processes while ensuring we continue to provide safe, reliable transportation for our students. The school day begins and ends with our buses, and our drivers and fleet are vital to our district. I am committed to maintaining and strengthening that standard of excellence for both daily routes and extracurricular activities.”
Outside her professional role, Jessica has been married for 18 years, and they have three children who attend Farmington R-7 schools. She enjoys spending time with her family, attending band events and soccer games, and relaxing on weekends, often playing video games together. She is also an avid reader of fantasy and science fiction, a passion she shares with her children.
Please join us in congratulating Jessica Long on her new role and in thanking Stacy Williams for her years of service to the Farmington R-7 School District.

Recently, our district hosted a multi-agency emergency planning meeting focused on coordination, communication, and preparedness. This kind of collaboration ensures that when a situation arises, everyone knows their role and can act quickly and effectively.
Thank you to our community partners for your time, expertise, and commitment to keeping our students, staff, and community safe.
We’re already looking forward to continuing this important work when we meet again in May. #SafeandHealthySchools #CommunityConnectedness
