We’re excited to announce that the 2025–2026 Farmington High School Yearbook received 3rd place for Cover & Theme Concept! 🏆
Our yearbook students traveled to SEMO for a journalism conference, where they attended a variety of workshops focused on design, photography, storytelling, and student journalism. These sessions gave our students new ideas and skills to help them become stronger journalists and yearbook creators.
After a day of learning, creating, and being inspired, our students are more excited than ever to begin producing the 2026–2027 yearbook and capturing the moments, people, and memories that make Farmington High School special.

Mr. Stone and Mr. McIntyre are hosting an informational meeting to kick off our upcoming 2028 European trip! The trip will visit many famous World War II sites, along with some incredible and beautiful locations across six different European countries.
The trip is open to FHS students and/or their family members, so we would love to get the word out to as many families as possible.

Linebacker Josh McCarthy has been named to the 2026 High School Watch List for the prestigious Butkus Award!
This elite watch list features just 51 of the nation’s top high school linebackers, a nod to the iconic No. 51 jersey worn by Hall of Famer Dick Butkus. The award honors players who embody Butkus’ legendary toughness, instincts, leadership, competitiveness, football character, and exceptional linebacking skill.
The selection committee (made up of coaches, scouts, former players, and media members) evaluated early-season film to choose this year’s candidates, paying special attention to traditional off-the-ball linebackers who lead their teams on and off the field.
Semifinalists will be announced on October 28 with the finalists unveiled on November 20. The winner will be announced the week of December 7.
We are incredibly proud of Josh for representing Farmington on the national stage!!🖤⚔️💛

This past Wednesday evening, JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) students from both Farmington High School and West County High School teamed up to prepare, serve, and clean up the weekly community meal at MUM’s Cafe, hosted by Memorial United Methodist Church.
MUM’s Cafe provides a free meal to the public every Wednesday night, made possible by local churches, organizations, and volunteers who step up to host. We are incredibly proud of our students for taking their turn to give back, practice practical leadership, and serve our neighbors with a smile.
A huge thank you to JAG specialists Nicholas Vaughn (FHS) and Cindy Martin (WCHS) for guiding these outstanding young leaders and fostering a strong spirit of community involvement! 🌟👏

To give them a real-world edge, Raquel Dunn and the amazing team at BJC Parkland Health Center provided our students with an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at how a real ER operates. From fast-paced decision-making to critical facility design, our future healthcare leaders got a firsthand look at what it truly takes to save lives under pressure. 🩺✨

🎒 Massive Community Support for CTA Cares Backpack Program! 🎒
We are overwhelmingly grateful to our amazing community for showing up in a big way to support the Farmington School District's CTA Cares Backpack Program! Thanks to local businesses, organizations, and generous individuals, our food pantries are stocked and our students are taken care of.
Here is a look at the incredible acts of generosity that recently came together for our kids:
Friday Night Tailgate Success: A huge thank you to Bryant Restoration for organizing a fantastic tailgate benefiting both the Farmington and North County Backpack programs! Sponsored by Midwest Cajun Co, Unico Bank, Save A Lot, First State Community Bank, and Bryant Restoration, the event saw our staff, students, and community dig deep to raise nearly $3,400 in direct donations that night. Thanks to additional support from Parkland Hospital and Marler Towing who made donations to both schools' programs, the grand total raised for our Farmington Backpack program alone reached an astonishing $5,130!
Local Business Thoughtfulness: Shoutout to The Roost Play Cafe! After receiving a $250 grant from Thrivent, they chose to use those funds to purchase needed items to stock our pantry. We love seeing local small businesses use their blessings to support our kids.
Random Acts of Kindness: In honor of "Random Acts of Kindness Day," our friends at Belgrade State Bank stopped by with a generous monetary donation to keep the momentum going.
It truly takes a village, and Farmington has the absolute best one. Thank you to every single sponsor, donor, business, and community member who continues to partner with us to make sure no student goes hungry.

What a fantastic day launching Cohort 3 of Black Knight Insight!
We loved taking our community members behind the scenes today to give them a firsthand look at how our schools operate, grow, and inspire students every single day. There was plenty of time spent in various classrooms from kindergarten through 6th grade. Here is a look at where our journey took us:
Truman Learning Center: Explored early childhood development insights with Ashley Bono from Parents as Teachers, plus an inside look at Kindergarten instruction.
Washington-Franklin Elementary: Walked over to dive into classroom instruction and learned how Rachel Armstrong guides our students in Digital Citizenship.
Jefferson Elementary: Took a school bus ride over to learn about the incredible impact of our Title I Intervention programs.
Lincoln Intermediate: Enjoyed a delicious Chick-fil-A box lunch while sitting right alongside our 5th and 6th graders to chat about their experiences during these important transition years.
Roosevelt Elementary: Finished our day exploring the vibrant world of Elementary Elective Classes.

Honestly, our IT department is one of the hardest-working groups in the entire organization. We literally could not function without them—and that’s not just a heartfelt sentiment, it’s a terrifying factual statement.
It's almost like Cory Smith and his team can do anything including...jumping out of helicopters?!? Ok, maybe not quite to that extreme. But let's take a moment to appreciate the work of Smith, Matt Cornell, Robert Barnes, Jesse Kimbrough, Cal Sheets, Michael Burnette, Ralph Scherffius and Garrett Bowyer.
We’d tell you all to take the day off to celebrate...but let’s be real. If you left for even an hour, the Wi-Fi would collapse, three whole schools would lock themselves out of email, and someone would inevitably try to wash a chromebook.
So instead, please enjoy this brief post of immense gratitude while you clear the 300 tickets currently waiting in your queue.

Today’s Parents as Teachers "Group Connections" event was an absolute blast! Our Little Explorers stopped by the Truman Learning Center to dive into a world of hands-on fun, discovering and playing their way through a variety of exciting learning stations.
A couple of staff shoutouts. Thanks to RayeLynn Sutherland who helped plan the activities for today and also began the day by reading a story to all the kiddos! Also, a wonderful job by Ashley Bono who does an amazing job engaging the kids, keeping their energy high, and working to make the program a success!🌟
