Fresh off a highly successful showing at cheer camp, members of the Farmington High School Cheerleading squad and their coaching staff joined host Mike Ramsey on KREI 800 AM’s Newsmakers program on Friday morning to highlight their recent achievements and preview the upcoming season.
Serious Kendra Arnett and Jorja Toney along with Coach Tia Cunningham were guests on the program. The appearance follows an outstanding performance at the four-day Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) Cheer Camp in Cape Girardeau, where the Knights brought home a stack of awards, recognition, and top team honors.
Farmington was one of 13 teams at the week-long camp hosted at SEMO. The team trained in stunt technique, choreography, and game-day showmanship. Farmington stood out throughout the event, earning multiple top recognitions.
On Friday's Newsmakers segment, the cheerleaders shared behind-the-scenes insights into their intensive summer preparation, the level of competition in Cape Girardeau and the teamwork required to execute elite stunts.
Host Mike Ramsey commended the team on their dedication, hard work, and the energy they bring to Friday night lights under the stadium lamps.
