☀️🏆 Yesterday was a whole mood! 🏆☀️

Who says summer school can't be all fun and games? Yesterday, our amazing students took a break from the classrooms and absolutely crushed Field Day!

Seeing these kids cheer each other on, try their best, and just enjoy being kids was the absolute best part of our week. Huge shoutout to our teachers who made the day a success, and a massive round of applause for our students who brought the hustle and the smiles! 👏

🐄✨ EAT MOR CHIKIN! ✨🐄

TRIVIA: Chick-fil-A is the world's largest purchaser of what food item (it's not what you think)?

Our 7th and 8th graders had an incredible, behind-the-scenes field trip to Chick-fil-A this morning! They got an exclusive look at what it takes to run one of the busiest kitchens around, rotating through three awesome interactive stations:

Station 1: The Business Blueprint 📊
Students dove into the history of the company and learned the ins and outs of what it really takes to operate a successful restaurant. They also learned the answer to the trivia question. Future entrepreneurs in the making!

Station 2: The Breakfast Rush 🥐
They took a tour of the kitchen right in the middle of the morning hustle! The best part? They got to taste-test the fresh biscuits they actually made.

Station 3: Quality Control 🍗
Our students learned about the strict quality assessment standards that keep the food so delicious—and wrapped it up with a final taste test of the iconic chicken sandwich.

Huge thanks to Ken Reeder and the amazing team at Chick-fil-A for hosting us, sharing your knowledge, and feeding our crew! Reeder went from working at Chick-fil-A at 15 years old to being the owner of the Farmington location. His group including Courtney Reeder, Caitlyn Walker and Jessica DePew were outstanding!

And do you some inside info on how to get some free food? 🤫 Breakfast tomorrow morning is on CFA! Every Tuesday in June, 2026 from 6:30-10:30am CST they offer a free Mystery Breakfast and all you need to do is request the item when placing your order! Only valid at Chick-fil-A Farmington and just be sure to mention the mystery breakfast promo at time of order.❤️

Oh, and the answer to the trivia question? Lemons. CFA utilizes over 250 million to 300 million lemons annually to produce their signature lemonade. Huh! Who knew?!?

🏡✨ History in our own backyard! ✨🏡

Today, our history books came to life as the 4th-grade class took a step back in time to visit some of the beautiful historic houses right here in the Farmington area including the McCormick House and the Morrison House!

From exploring colonial architecture to learning what daily life looked like hundreds of years ago, our students became real-life history detectives. They asked thoughtful questions, got a firsthand look at local heritage, and represented our school beautifully.

A huge thank you Mayor Morrison and family for allowing us to tour your home and to the amazing volunteers who welcomed us.

Take a look at a few moments from our historic adventure! 👇📸

Friday we handed out our first attendance prizes—a portable charger and a light-up flying disc—to students with perfect attendance. We also celebrated outstanding behavior by awarding our first TWO water park passes! 🎉

MAP TESTING CONTINUES THIS WEEK

How to Support Your Scholar at Home🚀 Standardized testing weeks can feel a bit daunting, but with the right environment at home, we can help our students trade "test stress" for "test success." 🥣 Fuel for the Brain🥣 FMS Breakfast Time: 7:20-7:45 😴 The Power of "Zzz's"😴 Sleep is when the brain organizes everything learned during the year. Consistency is Key: Aim for a consistent bedtime all week. Most kids need 9–11 hours of sleep to function at their peak. 🌇Digital Sunset🌇 Turn off screens (phones, tablets, TVs) at least 30 minutes before bed to help their brains wind down naturally.
How to Support Your Scholar at Home🚀 😌 Keep it Low-Stress😌 The goal is to keep the morning routine as "boring" and predictable as possible. 🎒Prep the Night Before🎒 Charge Chromebooks, lay out clothes, pack water bottle, and double-check that backpacks are ready by the door. A frantic morning search for a missing shoe is the last thing a student needs before a big exam. 🤩Positive Self-Talk🤩 Remind them that this test is just a "snapshot" of what they know—it doesn't define who they are. Encourage them with phrases like, "Just do your best and show what you've learned." 😎After-School Decompression😎 Testing is mentally exhausting! Allow for some extra downtime, outdoor play, or a favorite movie after school to help them recharge for the next day.
MAP Testing Starts Tomorrow! Are you ready?

We had a great visit from the St. Francois Co. Ambulance District for some of our students learning about saving lives in emergency situations. Thank you Mr. Tate and crew for your information and activities teaching us CPR training tips and tools and demonstrating many life-saving techniques.
