We are excited to invite our community to our first-ever K–12 District Art Show, featuring artwork from students across the entire district!
Where:
High School Field House – Upper Mezzanine Area
Show Times:
March 18 | 3:30–5:30 PM
March 19 | 3:30–7:00 PM
(Both evenings held in conjunction with Parent Conferences)
There will also be a special closed exhibition for staff during our Wellness Day on March 20th.
This exhibit will showcase outstanding artwork selected by every grade level and every art teacher in the district. We hope families will stop by and see the amazing work students across the district have created.
🎨 Selected artists and their parents will be notified through the ThrillShare app.
We can’t wait to celebrate our students and their creativity!

Over the past year, the district has:
• Reduced positions through attrition
• Consolidated roles
• Reviewed spending across departments
• Limited new expenditures where possible
These efforts help manage costs while maintaining school operations.
More details and a place to submit questions are available on the district website. www.fsdknights.com

We welcomed several student presenters and recognized the Feature Teacher and Heartland Hero from Washington-Franklin Elementary. The 2025–2026 Black Knight Insight cohort was also acknowledged for their time and commitment to the program.
In addition, MSBA shared a report on the Superintendent survey, which was made available to the community, and provided an update on the Superintendent search process.

State Bound for the Knights!
Congratulations to Aiden Hahn and Wyatt Fortune on qualifying for the MSHSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Columbia.
Aiden captured 1st place at the District Tournament, and Wyatt battled his way to a strong 3rd place finish to punch his ticket to State.
That kind of performance does not happen by accident. It is built on discipline, grit, and countless hours on the mat.
Best of luck in Columbia, Aiden and Wyatt. Knight Nation is behind you. #BKP #TheKnightWay

In this Knights Roundtable episode, Dr. Kyle Gibbs talks with students from FFA, Biomed/HOSA, FBLA, and the CNA pathway about hands-on learning, leadership, and real-world job connections.
While this conversation features just a few programs, Farmington High School offers many outstanding CTE pathways. Each one plays a vital role in preparing students for college, careers, and service to our community.
From nursing and EMT training to university plans and rural practice, our students are building communication, empathy, integrity, and critical thinking skills that last well beyond graduation.
CTE builds skills.
CTE builds confidence.
CTE builds futures.

This book fair will be free for students to get new-to-you books, unlike a book fair where families need to purchase books. We are accepting only appropriate materials for grades K-8.
High school - adult chapter books are not needed at this time, however we will accept cookbooks. You may drop off donations at the middle school. Donations must be in good to like-new condition.
Thank you! Any questions may be directed to the middle school librarian, Kate Dillon. kdillon@farmington.k12.mo.us

These are TWO separate steps:
1️⃣ Screening (by appointment in March)
2️⃣ Registration (in April)
✅ Screenings must be completed before Kindergarten registration.
Please help us spread the word so families don’t miss this step. If you know someone with a 4 or 5-year-old, tag them or share this post.

Officer Helton does far more than ensure safety. She builds relationships. She listens. She mentors. She helps students feel seen and supported.
And of course, she is rarely alone.
Therapy dog, Frida, works right alongside her, offering comfort during tough days, helping students regulate emotions, and bringing a little extra calm and joy into our buildings. Frida has a way of opening doors and starting conversations that might not otherwise happen.
Safety is about more than procedures. It is about connection and trust. Officer Helton models both.
As shared last week, the District has selected two additional School Resource Officers and will return to a full staffing level of three SROs beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. Until then, we are grateful for the partnership with the Farmington Police Department and the visible presence of road officers in our buildings during this transition. Community connectedness continues to make a difference.
Today, we say thank you to Officer Helton for her service, her compassion, and her commitment to our students and staff.

While the search is underway, current leadership remains in place, and schools continue operating as usual. Daily operations, financial planning, and oversight all continue, and the Board of Education maintains its role in governance and accountability throughout the process.

Mike and Sarah’s love story started while working together at The Catfish Kettle, proving that sometimes the best things come from everyday moments. They’ve been together for 33 years, married for 30, and are proud parents to two daughters, Emily and Alaina.
One of their favorite memories from their sweetheart days? Seeing Meatloaf at Riverport Amphitheater was a concert night they’ll never forget.

Nicole and Lucas’ love story started on the school bus, where an everyday bus trip became the beginning of something lasting. They’ve been together for 30 years, married for 26½, and have built a beautiful family with two sons and three grandchildren.
One of their favorite high school memories? Mrs. Brumball always picked on them when she saw them together in the halls! Some things never change, and neither did their love story.
