Over the past few weeks, several community groups have stepped forward to support our Backpack Food Program and make the season brighter for Farmington students and families:

• The Checkered Crumb – cash and food donations
• First State Community Bank Board – Christmas gift cash donation
• Debbie Bowling and Sue Sweeney with Wings of Love – food donation
• Meadow Heights Church – over 500 cans of pop-top pasta
• Local 3705’s Annual Battle of the Badges Backpack Food Drive – with incredible support from
St. Francois County Ambulance District, Bonne Terre PD, Leadington Fire Department,
Farmington PD, Farmington Fire Department, Desloge PD, and St. Francois County Joint Communication

Every contribution counts, whether it’s a meal, a can, or a dollar, and together these gifts help ensure students have what they need going into winter break.

Thank you to each group, department, and individual who continues to lift our kids and our community. This is what #CommunityConnectedness looks like. 🖤💛 #BKP #TheKnightWay #Ignite

Our latest episode of The Knight’s Roundtable shines a spotlight on Community Connectedness, one of our district’s core pillars. Dr. Gibbs sits down with student leaders from JROTC, Key Club, NHS, and Student Council to share how they’re serving others, building meaningful connections, and growing as leaders. Their projects, their passion, and their advice remind us what it truly means to be a Knight. Our FSD librarians are proving once again that they do more than connect students with great books; they connect with their community, too! They stepped up to ring the bell for the Battle of the Bells challenge supporting the United Way of St. Francois County.

Their energy, kindness, and holiday spirit set the perfect example of what it means to give back. Now it’s your turn to join the fun!

National Special Education Day Celebrating every learner. Honoring every champion.
There will be no school today for the Farmington R-7 School District due to inclement weather. Please stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy the extra time at home. Snow Day #1

Today’s announcement features the first student-created Snow Day design from our Grades 5–12 Snow Day Design Challenge! We’ll be sharing the top student submissions each time school is canceled this winter, and we can’t wait for you to see the creativity our Knights have put into their artwork.

To make the morning a little brighter, we’re also sharing a few snapshots of student art projects from around the district. Our classrooms have been busy this semester, and this is a great chance to celebrate the talent of our students while you enjoy an unexpected day off.

Stay cozy, Knights, and we’ll see you soon!

Wishing all of today’s Turkey Trot runners the best of luck, and a very Happy Thanksgiving to our entire community! 🦃 Earlier this week, Coach Baker’s 7th hour PE students wrapped up their own 5K training and proudly completed their run on Tuesday. Every student earned a medal for finishing, and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and determination. Enjoy the holiday, cheer on those runners, and have a safe and joyful Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to our staff members who were randomly selected in October’s Fight the Phish campaign. Each month, employees complete a cybersecurity training module that helps protect our district from online threats and keeps our systems secure.

A big shout-out to this month’s winners! Thanks for staying alert and helping keep Farmington safe.

Last Thursday, more than 30 educators, administrators, and early childhood partners from across the Farmington community gathered at Truman Learning Center for our Early Learning Committee meeting. This group brings together FSD staff and local preschool and early learning providers who share a common goal, giving our youngest learners the strongest start possible.

Participants revisited the “why” behind this work, explored early learning practices in Farmington R-7, and spent time inside Pre-K classrooms observing Morning Meeting routines, Small Group Circle Time, and hands-on Learning Stations led by Mrs. Bono, Dr. Chrisco, and Mrs. Miller.

The evening wrapped up with shared reflections and next steps as we continue building a collaborative approach to high-quality early learning across our district and community.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend, engage, and invest in our future Knights. Strong schools grow from strong beginnings, and we’re grateful for the partnership that makes this work possible. #CommunityConnectedness #TheKnightWay #BKP #Ignite

Class of 1953 Donation

A beautiful act of generosity from one of our own.
Mary Roberts, Farmington High School Class of 1953, stopped by to deliver a donation of $354.59 to the CTA Cares Backpack Program.

Mary shared that as her classmates have grown older and gatherings have become fewer, they wanted the remaining funds in their class account to go toward something meaningful. They chose to support our students.

What an incredible legacy of kindness from the Class of ’53.
Thank you, Mary, for continuing to care for the next generation of Knights. 💛🖤#TheKnightWay #BKP #CommunityConnectedness

Our teachers wrapped up their second session of Math Academy this week, and we couldn’t be prouder of the work they’re doing. This professional learning helps them grow, connect, and bring new strategies back to their classrooms so students get the very best every day.

Today’s session was all about collaboration and hands-on practice, and you could feel the excitement in the room. Our staff showed up eager to learn, share ideas, and support one another, which is exactly what makes Farmington special.

Thank you to our educators for the time and heart you invest in your craft. Your commitment directly impacts our students, families, and community, and we appreciate you.
