1st grade had so much fun with our reading unit recently! They read How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World, a wonderful story about a character who travels around the globe to gather ingredients to make an apple pie when the local market is closed.
To bring the book to life, we made our very own Apple Pie in a Cup right in the classroom!
Our young chefs layered together four key ingredients:
• 🌾 Crushed Graham Crackers (our pie crust!)
• 🍎 Apple Pie Filling
• 🍦 Whipped Cream
• 🍂 A Dash of Cinnamon
After enjoying our sweet treats, we turned our snack into a math lesson by conducting a class taste test and graphing our favorite ingredients. Ask your child which layer got their vote!

Support our local schools with your daily coffee run! Scooter’s Coffee in Farmington is partnering with the Farmington School District to host Giveback Days and two of our elementary buildings have dates coming up in October.
During each session, Scooter’s will donate 10% of all proceeds collected between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM directly back to the featured school. 🧋🖤💛☕️

🎶 Our third and fourth graders were leap frogging to musical excellence in Ms. Tyndall's music class! Students had a blast identifying notes on a line or in a space by using "flippy frogs" on a music staff. When learning is hands-on and engaging, foundational skills naturally 🐸 JUMP 🐸 to the next level. Way to go, crusaders!
