What a fantastic day launching Cohort 3 of Black Knight Insight!
We loved taking our community members behind the scenes today to give them a firsthand look at how our schools operate, grow, and inspire students every single day. There was plenty of time spent in various classrooms from kindergarten through 6th grade. Here is a look at where our journey took us:
Truman Learning Center: Explored early childhood development insights with Ashley Bono from Parents as Teachers, plus an inside look at Kindergarten instruction.
Washington-Franklin Elementary: Walked over to dive into classroom instruction and learned how Rachel Armstrong guides our students in Digital Citizenship.
Jefferson Elementary: Took a school bus ride over to learn about the incredible impact of our Title I Intervention programs.
Lincoln Intermediate: Enjoyed a delicious Chick-fil-A box lunch while sitting right alongside our 5th and 6th graders to chat about their experiences during these important transition years.
Roosevelt Elementary: Finished our day exploring the vibrant world of Elementary Elective Classes.

Join us Friday, September 11, at our home football game for a special evening focused on bringing our school and community together. This is more than a football game. It is a night to honor those who serve, celebrate our students, and strengthen the connections that make our community special.
HONOR
We will recognize veterans, active-duty military and first responders, including law enforcement, firefighters, EMS/paramedics and dispatchers. Pregame activities will include military and first responder recognition and the carrying of the American flag as we remember and honor those who serve.
PRIDE
We invite ALL athletes and activities to be part of the evening “meet & greet under the tent event” to communicate with the community as we celebrate.
UNITY
Come meet our Superintendent, Dr. Hardy, and officially welcome her to our school community. Our Board of Education will also be present to meet families, students, staff and community members, answer questions, hear ideas and connect with our community.

Please join us in celebrating Walter Moore, our recently co-crowned Classified Staff Member of the Year for 2025-26! 🎉🏅
We had a tie in the voting, so he will have to share the award, but two is better than one! As a custodian at Roosevelt, Walter keeps our school clean, safe, and running smoothly every single day. But he does so much more than that. His warm smile, endless patience, and steady encouragement brighten the halls for our students and staff alike. Walter is the heart of our school community, and this recognition couldn't go to a more deserving person.
