🎭 BREAK A LEG! 🎭
Three FHS theatre students headed out today to compete at International Thespian Festival in Bloomington, Indiana!✨
Our talented students will be showcasing their incredible skills on a national stage:
🎤 Scarlette McCoy will be taking the spotlight with a Musical Theatre solo.
👯♂️ Kyle Mills & Fiona Thomas are teaming up with a Musical Theatre duet.
The International Thespian Festival is the premier theatre festival for middle and high school students around the world. It has been held annually since 1941 and welcomes over 4,500 attendees. When they aren't busy competing and stealing the show, they’ll be fully immersed in the ultimate theatre experience—attending masterclass workshops, learning directly from industry professionals, and taking in performances from the top high school programs across the country. The workshop runs through Friday, June 26.🌟👏

👟 PHILLY BOUND! 👟
Big shoutout to Axtin Brune as he heads to Philadelphia tomorrow to compete in the New Balance Nationals! ✈️
Axtin will be leaving it all on the track in the 800-meter run, testing his speed and grit against the absolute best in the country. His time this year of 1:52.83 is the second fastest 800-meter time in all classes in the state of Missouri this year.
On the upcoming event this weekend in Philadelphia, Brune said, "I am very excited to get to compete in a meet like this, it has been the goal for almost two years. I feel like I am in a great spot in my career currently, especially having started the season with a partially torn Achilles and being limited to a low workload. There definitely feels like there is a lot left to go for with more training and time."
Let’s wish him the best of luck as he steps onto the national stage! Bring it home, Axtin!🕒🔥

This summer, our students step out of the classroom and into the local workforce, actively exploring exciting career pathways through hands-on, real-world internships. This program thrives because of the generosity and dedication of our local businesses and leaders and we are so incredibly grateful to each of them. Jayla Jarrett is working in the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office at the Madison County Courthouse. She wants to become a Prosecuting Attorney after attending Mineral Area College, the University of Missouri and then law school. Today, our history books came to life as the 4th-grade class took a step back in time to visit some of the beautiful historic houses right here in the Farmington area including the McCormick House and the Morrison House!
From exploring colonial architecture to learning what daily life looked like hundreds of years ago, our students became real-life history detectives. They asked thoughtful questions, got a firsthand look at local heritage, and represented our school beautifully.
A huge thank you Mayor Morrison and family for allowing us to tour your home and to the amazing volunteers who welcomed us.
Take a look at a few moments from our historic adventure! 👇📸
