Mrs. Feltner’s ELA class has been hard at work building strong reading comprehension skills! In Mrs. Feltner’s classroom, students created reading journals that they use to break down short stories and make meaningful connections to what they read. Using the Frayer Model, students illustrate what they visualize, then share and retell the story through their drawings.
These activities help students better understand their peers’ ideas and perspectives while also inspiring new writing topics based on the connections they make to the text. It’s amazing to see their comprehension grow as they think deeper, share openly, and learn from one another!
