There will be no school today for the Farmington R-7 School District due to inclement weather. Please stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy the extra time at home. Snow Day #1

Today’s announcement features the first student-created Snow Day design from our Grades 5–12 Snow Day Design Challenge! We’ll be sharing the top student submissions each time school is canceled this winter, and we can’t wait for you to see the creativity our Knights have put into their artwork.

To make the morning a little brighter, we’re also sharing a few snapshots of student art projects from around the district. Our classrooms have been busy this semester, and this is a great chance to celebrate the talent of our students while you enjoy an unexpected day off.

Stay cozy, Knights, and we’ll see you soon!

🎉 Honoring the Retirement of Brian Rigdon 🎉 After 25 years in education and 19 years with Farmington School District, Mr. Rigdon is saying farewell. As a Special Services Teacher, Brian worked across Lincoln Intermediate, Middle School, and the Alternative School—always with the goal of supporting students in their unique learning journeys. Known for his caring approach, sense of humor, and belief in second chances, he created classrooms where students could grow, make mistakes, and feel safe doing so. His presence has impacted not only students but also future teachers and families who now call FSD home. Brian, thank you for your patience, wisdom, and unwavering belief in every learner. 🧠💚 Mental Health Matters! In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, students from Farmington High School’s Youth Mental Health Coalition and Dayse Baker’s PACE program participated in Mental Health First Aid training. This valuable training, led by Whitney Shumway and Brandon Tucker with the St. Francois County Community Partnership, gave students the tools to recognize and respond to mental health challenges in themselves and others. We’re proud of these young leaders for stepping up to support mental wellness in our schools and beyond. 💛🖤 #MentalHealthAwareness #FSDKnights #YouthLeadership #StrongerTogether #CommunityPartnerships #WSCC

Please help us celebrate our leader Dr. Alisha Conley! Dr. Conley lives each day at Dayse Baker with the moto, "Every Day is a New Day!" Here are some things the students had to say about her:

Student #1: Dr. Conley always takes everyone's feelings into consideration. Student #2: Dr. Conley is my school mom. Student #3: Dr. Conley is always doing the best to keep us safe and meets our needs. You can really tell she cares about us and wants to see us be successful in life. Student #4 :You are appreciated. For a school principal I actually like her. Student #5: She has helped me a lot, she is very kind and big hearted. Student #6: When she says good morning to us it makes me smile. It makes me feel good if I am having a bad day. Student #7: Thank you for all of your hard work.
