Missouri recently adopted an approach to teaching reading based on the Science of Reading. The science of reading is a multidisciplinary field that explores how humans learn to read and understand written language. It examines the brain, language, and teaching methods to understand how reading works.
Teachers across all elementary buildings recently completed the two-year course for LETRS training based on the Science of Reading. This intense program required many in-person sessions and multiple modules that teachers completed independently. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of these teachers.
