Our Farmington kindergarteners and 1st graders had the ultimate cool-down today! ☀️ Standard field trips are great, but nothing beats the pure joy of running through a massive water curtain courtesy of the Farmington Fire Department!
A huge thank you to our local firefighters for making a splash, keeping our kids safe, and creating core memories today. There was much screaming, the water was cold, and the smiles were absolutely unforgettable!

🐻🏼 ALL RISE! ⚖️🥣
Our 4th graders traded their classrooms for the courtroom today! It was an incredible field trip to the Farmington courthouse to put a famous fairy tale felon on the stand for the "Trial of Goldilocks."
The charges? Breaking and entering, destruction of property, and porridge theft! 🪑❌
Our students played the role of the jury while teachers and staff played the role of the characters involved. The Witnesses (including a very disgruntled Babe E Bear) took the stand to tell their sides of the story. The Jury deliberated long and hard over the evidence (they actually really did!).
A massive thank you to Judge Patrick King, Circuit Clerk Kristina Bone, the bailiffs and the courthouse staff for hosting us, teaching our students about the judicial system and showing them that civics can be incredibly fun.
So, what was the final verdict? Goldilocks was found not guilty of breaking and entering, but guilty of theft and destruction of property!! 🏛️👨⚖️👩⚖️

These students were our perfect attendance prize winners at the Summer Learning Academy for week one! We want to give a massive round of applause to all of our students who achieved perfect attendance during summer school this week. Showing up every day with a positive attitude is a huge accomplishment!
All students with perfect attendance for the week are entered into prize drawings at the end of the week. Be on time and present each day for a chance to win! We'll see who wins prizes for week 2 next Monday!
We also want to shout out our incredible families for waking up early, packing lunches, and ensuring our students arrive ready to succeed. We appreciate you! 🎒🚌

Who doesn't want to conquer the playground?! There was endless fun, soaring high on the swings, racing down the slides, and plenty of teamwork on the climbing structures. It was so wonderful to see our students playing together, sharing, strengthening both their gross motor skills and social/emotional skills!

Our Farmington 4th graders took a delicious field trip to the Farmhouse Bakery this morning! And who doesn't love a donut?? Kids got a great lesson from Kristy Vandiver from learning what she makes, how she got started and which items are her best sellers. Our students got a firsthand look at the inside of the business world and the art of baking.
A massive thank you to Kristy and her amazing team at the Farmhouse Bakery just off the courthouse square for welcoming us, answering a million questions, and (of course) providing some incredible treats!

Our amazing summer school crew traded the classroom for the ultimate Farmington adventure today! We packed in a full day of learning, teamwork, and a whole lot of splashing.
Here is how our epic day went down:
📚 Farmington Public Library: Shhh... 🤫 actually, scratch that. Things are about to get LOUD! Our 5th and 6th graders got a lot more than just a quiet day of reading as the library was transformed into a massive, live-action Escape Room! 🕵️♂️📚Our students cracked codes, solved riddles, and used some serious teamwork to try and escape! They also had a crafting session and another group area where they learned all about how the library functions. Huge shoutout to Travis and the incredible team at the Farmington Public Library for creating such an immersive, hands-on learning experience.
🚒 Farmington Firehouse: A massive thank you to our local firefighters! The 4th graders got an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour at the Firehouse today as they checked out the trucks, their gear and learned all about fire safety from our hometown heroes.
💦 Farmington Water Park: Our 2nd graders got a chance to beat the early summer heat with a trip to the Farmington Water Park! From the slides to the lazy river, there were smiles and splashes all around.

Jefferson explored the stars today at Field Day with the Challenger Center Planetarium! We traveled through time and space to learn about cardinal directions, constellations, and the rotation of the earth. 🌌 🌖 ☀️

These amazing Jefferson Musicians completed Recorder levels all the way to Black Belt! Did you know music education significantly boosts academic performance by strengthening cognitive functions like working memory, executive control, and abstract reasoning? We are proud of these kids and Mrs. Kotagiri for leading them!

Jefferson Field Day will be held Wednesday, May 20. First and Second Grade Classes will rotate through activities in morning, and Third and Fourth Grade Classes will go in the afternoon. Parent volunteers are needed to work the shift opposite your child so that you can enjoy the fun with your student. Thank you for helping to make this day a success!

Jefferson Student Ambassadors celebrated the end of a wonderful year of service with a picnic and Kids vs. Parents games. These students have taken an active leadership role in the school and community in the following ways: monitoring hallways, collecting mail, creating video announcements, serving Veterans breakfast, ringing the bell for United Way, caroling downtown, working the school store, creating gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week, and being model ambassadors to all students. Jefferson is proud of them and their strong character. 💛🖤

Today, our fifth grade classrooms turned into the Happiest Place on Earth as we took a virtual trip to Disney Parks! 🎡🏰 From thrilling virtual rides and fun games to creative crafts and a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-boo-tiful amount of snacks, our students made memories that will last a lifetime.
