WELCOME TO MRS. ALBEE'S ELA I CLASSES

Welcome!  My name is Lindsey Albee and I currently teach ELA I at Farmington High School.  I'm from Washington, MO where I was born and raised, but moved to Farmington in the Winter of 2009.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English from Missouri Valley College and my Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Southeast Missouri State University.

Family:

I have been married to my husband Kelly, a sales representative with AT&T since 2011.  We welcomed our son, Payson Albee, into our lives during the Summer of 2014. He has made our lives much busier than it ever was before, but we can't imagine our lives without him. In 2017, we were blessed with our daughter, McKinley Albee, and she has been a little spitfire, diva who has kept us on our toes from day one. In 2019, we welcomed our son Kamden Albee into the Albee Tribe right before Thanksgiving. He has been such a HAM and we love him to pieces.

Although I live an hour and a half away from home, we frequently visit our family and friends in Washington.  I have two brothers, Dallas and Jordan, and one sister, Logan. All of my siblings are in the education field, which is kind of rare for so many kids in one family. Our parents are both retired police officers who still work in the public safety field.  We all grew up as a close-knit family and hung out all of the time together. We were often on trips for sporting events as each of my siblings and I were involved in multiple sports. Family vacation meant going on a trip for nationals with a team wherever that may be.

My Softball Background:

I began my softball career at Washington High School where I was a 4 year Varsity player for the Blue Jays.   I batted .333 my senior season and still hold the Career Sacrifice record for the Blue Jays. I remain on the all time list for batting average, hits, RBI’s, walks, and stolen bases.  I was one of the hardest batters to strike out in my high school career, as I accumulated only 16 strikeouts in 209 plate appearances. I was a First Team All Gateway Conference selection my senior season.

I spent my summers playing softball for the Gold Level River City Lightning from St Charles, Missouri but also continued to participate in my local Babe Ruth organization.   Washington Babe Ruth All Stars made several trips to the Midwest Plains Regional tournaments, coming within one game of qualifying for the World Series in 2003 as we fell 4-2 to a very good Colorado Southern team in the championship game.   I was named Most Valuable Player at the tournament in a losing effort.

I continued my softball career in 2003 by signing with Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri.   I was a 4 year Varsity starter at Missouri Valley at second base and was named to the Heart of America All Conference team twice.   I was named Captain of the team my senior season, and culminated my career by helping to lead the team to a championship of the Heart of America Conference and the team’s first ever trip to the NAIA Softball World Series.  I was selected as an NAIA Academic All American my senior season.
