Dayse Baker Learning Center

During the September 2019 Farmington School District Board of Education meeting, the BOE voted unanimously to rename the Midwest Learning Center building the Dayse Baker Learning Center. Dayse Baker was a pillar of early education in the Farmington Community and served for over 50 years as an educator during segregation in our school systems. From 1903 to 1954, she was a leader and mentor for many students in our community.  Dayse Baker was also part of the first Farmington Hall of Fame induction class honored at the Black Knight Fieldhouse in December 2016. Dayse Baker Learning Center aims to increase graduation rates, increase attendance levels and support students in various ways.
